Stonebridge Woods Subdivision
DesignTek was the civil design firm for a 111 acre mixed-use, master planned development within the Village of Homer Glen on behalf of a private development group. This project consisted of commercial uses, multi-family townhomes, and various sizes of single family lots. The project involved the design and construction of a thirty six inch relief storm sewer used to convey upstream flows through, around, and ultimately downstream to a water course that was able to safely accept the discharge from the relief sewer minimizing any possible impacts to downstream properties. Additionally, the site required the design and construction of a lift station and associate force main. The force main design extended approximately a quarter of a mile offsite within the existing right of way of 163rd Street. Site constraints included significant offsite storm water flows that needed to be routed safely through the property, sensitive wetland areas, and several acres of heavily wooded land that was incorporated into the single family lots in a manner that allowed a large majority of the trees to be saved. DesignTek oversaw the projects due diligence, zoning, and preliminary engineering design phases.
